Leamon Pipes departed this life on July 10, 2013, at the Hardin Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Mr. Pipes was born on July 24, 1942, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late John and Ethel Smith Pipes. On July 4, 2004, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Jane Crotts. He lived in Hardin County for 9 years and Freeport, Texas for 38 years. He worked for the Dow Chemical Company for 17 years and also as a self-employed painter. He attended Spoken Word Ministry of Savannah, Tennessee. He liked to spend his time painting, fishing, working in his yard, helping others and enjoyed being out of doors with everyone.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn Jane Pipes of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by a son, William E. Pipes and his wife, Linda of Brazoria, Texas and a daughter, Janine L. Pipes, also of Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Pipes, Robert Pipes and William Pipes; four sisters, Joyce Legan, Icie Price, Josie Franks and Lillie Mae Franks.
