Leland Pigg

Mr. Leland Pigg departed this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 70 Years, 4 Months, 19 Days. He was born January 12, 1946 in Cypress Inn, TN the son of the late Edd and Nancy Elizabeth Gillis Pigg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pigg was preceded in death by five brothers, John Pigg, Olin Pigg, Junior Pigg, Doyle Pigg and Ernest Pigg, three sisters, Pearlean Kelley , Beulah Risner Mattox and Ivy Pigg.

He was united in marriage to Lillian Marie Tatum on October 22, 1966.

Leland worked with Vaughn Contractors out of Waverly, TN , and had worked with Anderson and Gregory of Nashville, and owner of Pigg's Shell. He was a member of the Forty Eight Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife Lillian Marie (Tatum) Pigg , two daughters, Lisa (Pigg) Gatlin and husband Jackie all of Waynesboro, TN, and Linda Ann (Pigg) Crews and husband Stephen of Decatur, AL, son, Charles Leon Pigg of Nashville, TN, three grandchildren, Craig Gatlin, Belinda (Gatlin) Simmons and husband Shane, and Taner Swinea and wife Victoria, great grandchildren, Charles Alexander "Alex" Simmons and Tyler Kade Gatlin, a brother, Howard Pigg of Florence, AL.

Services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Tim Hanback and Donnie Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in North Highland Cemetery , Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 5:00-9:00 pm and on Friday, June 3, 8:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro, TN.
