Lena Louise Nowlin

Lena Stults Nowlin of Waverly, TN, formery of Collinwood, TN was born February 25, 1921 in Lauderdale County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Tipton Commodore and Nora Pearl Parrish Stults. She was united in marriage to Walter Nowlin Jr. on December 22, 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1986.
Mrs. Nowlin was a homemaker, a member of Collinwood Church of Christ, and was a member, of over 50 years, of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Nowlin departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 5 Months, 12 Days.
She is survived by sons, Steve Nowlin and wife, Linda of Opelika, AL and Jerry Nowlin of CA; daughters, Stella L. Nowlin Matney and husband, Jerry and Judy Nowlin Butler and husband, Donnie all of New Johnsonville, TN; nine grandchildren, Nancy Nowlin, John Walter Nowlin, Ginger Holton, Jared Straughn, Gena Schmahl, Gregory D. Matney, Sonya Claxton, Ben Butler, Chad Butler; 15 Great-Grandchildren; a sister, Livinia Brewer of Iron City, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Roger Villines and Sammy Franks officiating. Burial will be in the McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2009 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 9 am until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Edwin, David, Randal, and Ronald Brewer, Rusty Phillips, and Rickey Kelley.
