Lenard Earl Evans was born May 2, 1925 in Decatur County, TN the son of the late Carl and Lydia Mae Brashfield Evans. He was united in marriage to Imogene Cox on May 25, 1946. Mrs. Evans preceded him in death on September 3, 2016. He served our country during WWII in the United States Navy. Lenard was a retired shoe cutter for 37 years at Brown Shoe Company in Selmer and had worked for Murray Guard as a security guard for many years. He was a member of Purdy Lodge 132, Free and Accepted Masons. Mr. Evans departed this life on February 6, 2017 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 9 Months, 4 Days.
He is survived by a son, Dennis Earl Evans and wife Lyn of Fairlawn, OH; a daughter, Gayle Williams of Belle Chasse, LA; two grandchildren, Kari Evans-Latz and husband Allan of Lakewood, OH, Christopher Evans of Akron, OH; a sister, Freida King of Memphis, TN; and a brother-in-law, Hugh Wayne Cox.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by three sisters: Margie, Lucille and Francis; and four brothers; Muriel, Carl Jr., Patrick and Freddie.
