Leo Alvis Dodd, Jr., age 70, of Bolivar departed this life Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Martha Ann Dodd, who survives, he was the owner of Leo's Used Cars and worked as a mechanic. After that, he worked at Wayne Vandiver's Sawmill until 2008. He was born April 4, 1946, in Hardeman County, son of the late Leo Alvis Dodd, Sr., and Maggie Harris Dodd and lived in Hardeman County all of his life except for 10 years in Memphis. He married Martha Ann Thacker on July 22, 1967 and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Samantha Ann Dodd of Bolivar and Becky Vandevander of Selmer; a sister, Peggie Jean LaCroix of Bolivar; and a grandson, Matt Vandevander of Selmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald Randolph Dodd and Rodney Wayne Dodd and a sister, Elmer Christine Novay.
