Leon Campbell, Jr. was born on May 23, 1950, in Brownsville, Tennessee, and passed away on September 18, 2025, in Bolivar, Tennessee. He devoted 47 years of his life to Ford Construction, where he distinguished himself as a heavy equipment operator, primarily skilled in running a dragline. Known for his unwavering work ethic, Leon exemplified the dedication of a hard-working family man. His family was the focal point of his existence, and he lived a life marked by simplicity and few words, yet rich in love and commitment to those around him.
Leon is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Joyce McAlpin Campbell, whom he married on January 1, 1974. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his daughters, Christy Dubose (Ricky) of Bolivar, Carol Entrikin (Bryan) of Ashland City, and Carrie Jackson (Kenny) of Pocahontas, as well as his son, Cody Campbell (Mica) of Jackson. Leon cherished his role as a father and took tremendous pride in his grandchildren: Ryan Campbell (Shelby), Ashley Dowdy (Nathan), JohnPaul Howard (Alyssa), LaraPaige Hall, and his grandsons, Bryant and Quinton Massengill, Clay Jackson (Morgan), Cameron Jackson, and the youngest, Miley Frey, along with Carson and Cooper Campbell. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, who brought him joy and fulfillment.
Leon is survived by his siblings: Francine Tranum (Johnny), Sharlene Campbell, Brenda Hickman (Roy), Michael Campbell, and Jerry Campbell. He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil Leon Campbell, Sr. and Viola Creasy Campbell, and his sister-in-law, Sheila Campbell, along with his niece, Monica Yopp.
