Leon Campbell, Jr. was born on May 23, 1950, in Brownsville,, and he passed away on September 18, 2025, in Bolivar Tennessee. Leon dedicated 47 years his life to Ford Construction, where he excelled as a heavy equipment operator, predominantly working with a dragline until health began to decline. A man of few words, he embodied the essence of hard work and commitment to family, which was the cornerstone of his existence.

Known for his simplicity, Leon enjoyed moments spent fishing and engaging in conversations over the C.B. radio. In his younger days, he cherished the thrill of hunting deer, displaying his tenacity in both his hobbies and his professional life. He possessed a remarkable ability to work on a variety of projects, whether they involved cars or trucks. His faith as a Baptist guided his values and shaped his interactions with those around him.

Leon is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon McAlpin Campbell, whom he married on January 1, 1974, and his three daughters: Christy Dubose (Ricky) of Bolivar, Carol Entrikin (Bryan) of Ashland City, and Carrie Jackson (Kenny) of Pocahontas. His son, Cody Campbell (Mica) of Jackson, along with his siblings—sisters Francine Tranum (Johnny), Sharlene Campbell, and Brenda Hickman (Roy), and brothers Michael Campbell and Jerry Campbell—will carry his memory close to their hearts. Additionally, Leon is survived by his grandchildren: Ryan Campbell (Shelby), Ashley Dowdy (Nathan), JohnPaul Howard (Alyssa), LaraPaige Hall, Bryant and Quinton Massengill, Clay Jackson (Morgan), Camerson Jackson, Miley Frye, Carson and Cooper Campbell and 8 great-grandchildren.

Leon was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Leon Campbell, Sr., his mother, Viola Creasy Campbell, his sister-in-law, Sheila Campbell, and his niece, Monica Yopp.
