Leona Helmer Wilson

Leona Helmer Wilson departed this life on Friday, September 25, 2020, at the age of 68 years and 7 months. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond Helmer and the late Margie Wilson Helmer.
Leona later relocated to Iuka, Mississippi where she raised her family. She loved animals, working puzzles, fishing, and drinking coffee with her best friend, Gayle Mathis. She especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. Her final years were spent in Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her father, Leona is survived by her children, Trever Wilson of Iuka, Mississippi and Trena Lawson of Glen, Mississippi; sisters, Linda Dritlein and her husband Kevin of Cary, Illinois, Judy Atkinson and her husband Kevin of Belvedere, Illinois, Theresa Magdlin and her husband William of Illinois, Patricia Rodriguez and her husband Larry of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, and Rusty Anderson and her husband Gary of Antioch, Illinois; brothers, Paul Helmer and his wife Hilary of Otto, North Carolina and Raymond Helmer, Jr. and his wife Vicki of Elgin, Illinois; grandchildren, Joshua Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, both of Corinth, Mississippi, Kaylee Lawson, and Jaycee Lawson, both of Glen, Mississippi; and great grandchildren, Kaden Wilson ,and Ruthie Fay Wilson, both of Corinth, Mississippi.
Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael Helmer and Lawrence Helmer.
