Leonard Randolph Martin of Iron City, TN was born December 2, 1927 in Cloverdale, AL the son of the late George Paulk and Carrie Lindsey Martin. He was united in marriage to Nell Brewer on December 22, 1946.
Mr. Martin was a retired machinist foreman with TVA, was a member of the International Association of Machinis, Local 65; and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee.
Mr. Martin departed this life on Friday, January 10, 2014 at ECM Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 86 Years, 1 Month, 8 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Brewer Martin of Iron City, TN; sons, Travis Martin and wife, Mary of Lutts, TN, Kenneth Martin and wife, Louise, Sammy Martin and wife, Vicky, and Charles Martin and wife, Angie all of Iron City, TN; a daughter, Dianne Martin Todd of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Kelli Durrett, Brian Martin, Christie Littrell and husband, Brent, Shaun Todd, Bridget Martin, Anthony Martin and wife, Lisa, Tyler Martin and girlfriend, April, Cameron Martin and fiance', Abby, and Connor Martin; great-grandchildren, Will Durrett, Jack Durrett, Addie Kate Littrell, Eli Martin, Tessa Littrell, Ryan Martin, Knox Martin; a brother, Hassell Martin and wife, Reba of Iron City, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by sons, Mark Martin and James Matthew Martin; daughter, Donna Rebecca Martin; brother, Vernon (Pete) Martin; and stepmother, Harriett Martin.
Services will be Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with grandson, Anthony Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Brian Martin, Shaun Todd, Tyler Martin, Cameron Martin, Connor Martin, Will Durrett, and Jack Durrett.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Monday, January 13, 2014 from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.
We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Danny McFall, Dr. Felix Morris and the Palliative Care staff at ECM for the wonderful care in making our , husband, father, and grandfathers's final days with us comfortable and peaceful.
