Leroy Holloway

Mr. Leroy Holloway, age 87, of Bolivar, departed this life Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Bolivar General Hospital.

A native of Alcorn County, Mississippi, he was born December 4, 1929 to James Franklin "Doc" Holloway, who died when Leroy was 11 years old, and Nellie Pearl Ferrell Holloway and had lived in Bolivar since 1965. He was retired as a maintenance worker with Bolivar Gas Department, retiring in December of 1998 after 33 years of employment. One of his favorite things to do was to go fishing, but he got more enjoyment out of 'talking' about fishing. He loved God and his family and was a member of Bolivar United Pentecostal Church.

Services were 2 pm Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Bolivar with Tim Bryant and Lee Marek officiating. Burial was in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Lagomarsino of Victoria, MS; a son, Lamar Holloway of Silerton; four grandchildren, James Lamar Holloway, Jr., Rick Lee Stansell, Jr., Mandy Michelle Stansell and Christopher Michael Farrell; four step grandchildren, Donna Christopher, Cherie Bryant, Brent Ethington and Paul Adam Lagomarsino; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Alene Burchman, Bobbie Ruth Wilbanks and Vera McAnally; and a brother, Junior Franklin Holloway.
