Leslie Scaglione, a cherished and devoted woman who dedicated 30 years to the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant, passed away on April 25, 2026, in Whiteville, Tennessee. Born on December 21, 1949, Leslie’s life was marked by her unwavering care for others, a trait that defined both her professional and personal life.
Leslie’s journey in the medical field spanned three decades, during which she touched countless lives with her compassion and skill. After retiring, she embraced the joys of life beyond work, nurturing her varied interests that enriched her days. An enthusiast of horseback riding, Leslie found great pleasure in the freedom and connection with nature that it provided. Her love of travel and camping reflected her adventurous spirit and desire to explore the world. She also enjoyed knitting, finding peace and creativity in her handiwork, and had a fondness for antiques, appreciating the stories held within each piece.
Before settling in Hardeman County, where she spent the last ten years of her life, Leslie resided in California, bringing with her a wealth of experiences and warmth. The community of Hardeman County became a place where she created lasting memories and friendships.
Leslie’s proudest accomplishments were deeply rooted in her family life. She married her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Scaglione, on October 12, 2002, a partnership that was a source of great joy and strength. Her children, especially her son Curtis Shuster, along with her extended family, were the center of her universe. Family was everything to Leslie, and her love and dedication to them remain a lasting legacy.
She is survived by her husband Bob, her son Curtis Shuster, and her brother Russell Cogburn, all of whom carry forward her memory with love and respect. Leslie was preceded in death by her daughter Lanae Shuster, her father Doyle Cogburn, and her mother Helen Johnson Cogburn. Their memories are forever cherished by those who knew her.
Leslie Ellen Scaglione’s life was a testament to kindness, devotion, and the joy found in simple pleasures. Her presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit endures in the hearts of all she touched. Private family memorial services will take place at a later date.
