Lessie Mae Whitaker

Lessie Mae Whitaker was born July 19, 1921 in Tennessee the daughter of the late Troy and Evie Stone Attaway.She was united in marriage to Raymond Whitaker on April 3, 1948. Mr. Whitaker preceded her in death on April 25, 1990.Mrs. Whitaker retired from Brown Shoe Company and attended the United Methodist Church in Selmer, Tennessee.She departed this life on October 21, 2009 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 3 Months, 2 Days.Mrs. Whitaker is survived by three daughters, Doris Paulette Singleton and husband Mac of Reagan, TN, Carolyn Poindexter and husband Jerry of Selmer, TN and Ina Middleton of Selmer, TN; a sister, Lois Green of League City, TX; a brother, Meril Attaway of Jacks Creek, TN; 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jerry Middleton; a granddaughter, Melissa Middleton and two brothers, Gene and William Attaway.
