Lewell Maurine Alexander

Lewell M. Alexander, 90, of Selmer, died on Thursday, June 11, 2009. Mrs. Alexander was a retired LPN from McNairy Regional Hospital and prior to becoming a LPN was employed for several years by Brown Shoe Company in Selmer.She was born May 8, 1919, in Ramer, Tennessee, to the late Robert L. Warren and Sarah Swain Warren. She graduated from Ramer High School in 1937 and married Prentiss L. Alexander on May 7, 1938. Mr. Alexander preceded her in death on February 19, 1958. She was a member of Selmer First Baptist Church.Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her youngest son, Joe Warren Alexander of Selmer, and her brothers Robert Loyce Warren and Charles William Warren.She is survived by one son, Gurney Louis Alexander of Houston, Texas; Grandsons, George Warren Alexander of Selmer, Lance Craig Alexander of Silverdale, Washington, and Clayton Louis Alexander of Nashua, New Hampshire; several great and great-great grandchildren.
