Lewis Franklin Guinn, Jr., departed this life on Monday, August 3, 2020, at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 8 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 26, 1934, the son of the late Lewis Franklin Guinn, Sr., and Mallie Frix Guinn. On May 21, 1955, he was united in marriage to Doris Rhea Allison, who survives.
Lewis enjoyed gardening, mowing and working in general. But he loved catfish - catching them, cooking them and eating them! He worked for 36 years at Brown Shoe Company and four years at Angelica. Lewis always had his side jobs - commercial fishing, musseling and wood cutting. After retirement, he kept busy making his walking sticks, camping and cooking fish for his family friends and former school classmates. He loved helping others with any job!
In addition to his wife, Doris Guinn of Savannah, Tennessee; Lewis is survived by his four daughters, Regina Franklin, Rebecca Cromwell and her husband Phil, all of Savannah, Tennessee, Rene Worley and her husband Tom of Cowan, Tennessee, and Rita Sewell, of Savannah, Tennessee. He was "Pa Guinn" to nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Jeromy Smith, Tori Thomas, Tiffany Beckham, Adam Cromwell, Betsy Berryhill, Matthew Worley, Hatley Kilgore, Karisten Martin, Kirby Petty, McKinley Smith, Cruz Thomas, Colt Thomas, Carter Beckham, Case Beckham, Clay Beckham, Claire Beckham, Gavin Cromwell, Grayson Cromwell, Jax Berryhill, Ava Berryhill, Oliver Petty, and Elliott Petty.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. However, Lewis is survived by several more brothers and sisters.
