Lila "Fern" Qualls

Lila Fern Qualls was born May 31, 1932 in McNairy County , TN the daughter of the late Beal C. and Hattie Agnes Johnson Locke.

She was united in marriage to James "Red" Noble Qualls on December 25, 1951. Mr. Qualls preceded her in death on May 22, 2016.

Mrs. Qualls worked at area sewing factories and Iona's Beauty Shop in Selmer as a hairdresser. She enjoyed quilting, going to flea markets with Red, and shopping. She loved to garden when she was able and her yard was filled with beautiful flowers. She was very fond of her little dog, Tippy.

Mrs. Qualls departed this life on May 29, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 11 Months, 29 Days. She is survived by grandson, Donnie Qualls of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Casey Marcom and husband Dylan of Jackson, TN; great grandson, Brenton Porter of Jackson, TN; two sisters, Agnes Locke McGee of Selmer, TN, Elsie Jane Locke Kirkman of Ripley, MS; two brothers, J.T. and Bobby Locke both of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Qualls was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Qualls; three sisters, Lula Locke Sanders, Grapel Locke Isbell, Dorothy Locke Isbell; three brothers, Carl, Harl, and Arlie Locke;
