Mrs. Lillian Puryear Wilson of Saulsbury departed this life at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 28 days Monday morning, June 25, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi October 28, 1933 to the late Rogers Thomas and Zallie Bledsoe Puryear. A 1955 graduate of Blue Mountain College, she worked as an English teacher for 28 years in various locations in Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. After moving to Saulsbury in 1996, she worked as a fill-in teacher at Bolivar Central High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Middleton.
Mrs. Wilson leaves as her survivors a daughter, Judith Ann Eckersley of Edmond, Oklahoma; a son, Harold David Wilson of Saulsbury; three grandchildren, David Wesley Wilson, John Dylan Eckersley, and Jessica Ann Eckersley; one brother, George H. Puryear of Marrero, Louisiana; and two sisters, Sarah F. Minahan of Tampa, Florida and Nancy Lynn Hoover of Westerville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Puryear Kenderdine and Hulene Voyles.
