Lillie Mae Ray Hill was born August 18, 1920 in Wayne Co., Tennessee, the daughter of the late Jason and Mary Gobble Ray. She was united in marriage to John Riley Hill on January 15, 1939 and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2008.
Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and a member of the County Line Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Mrs. Hill departed this life on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the home of her daughter, Bertie McGee, at the age of 89 Years, 1 Month.
She is survived by three daughters, Bertie M. McGee and Wanda Faye Boyd both of Lawrenceburg, TN, Deloris L. Stooksberry of Leoma, TN; four sons, Bobby R. Hill; Louis R. Hill; Willie P. Hill; and David E. Hill all of Lawrenceburg, TN; 15 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by a son, Thomas R. Hill and her firstborn infant son.
Services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Turley, Johnny Gibbs, Stan Bevis officiating. Burial will follow in the Fishtrap Cemetery, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Monday, September 21, 2009 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.
