LILLIE FAYE MORRISON

 Henderson, TN: Lillie Faye Seratt Morrison, age 72, passed away February 28, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born January 14, 1952, in Chester County, the daughter of the late Brancey Eugene and Mildred Mozelle Smith Seratt. She grew up in Chester County and was a 1970 graduate Chester County High School.

She married James Morrison, Jr. on June 10, 1973, and they spent most of their married life of fifty years, living in the Hickory Corner Community.

She was a seamstress for many years working in local garment factories. In most recent years before retiring. she worked as a cook for Skinners Food Mart and then for Corner Express in Henderson.     

She was an excellent cook, and her specialty was chocolate oatmeal cookies which she made every day, she was affectionally know by many as “Moma Faye”, to many.

She was a member of the Haltom’s Chapel Church but had been attending New Home Baptist Church for the past twelve years.    

She loved hummingbirds and had many bird feeders and also, enjoyed yard sales and Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

She loved every minute of time she spent with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Morrison is survived by her husband, James Robert Morrison, Jr. of Henderson; a son, Michael Morrison (Lynne) of Henderson; a daughter, Kristy Gaffney (George) of Henderson; three grandchildren, Garrett Hathcock, Riley Hathcock and Tailynn Morrison and a sister, Bonnie Hailey of Conway, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Thomas Seratt and Jimmy Seratt.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 3^rd at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday and 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time on Sunday.
