Linda Kate Byrd Doyle

LINDA KATE BYRD DOYLE

was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on June 19, 1943 the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Byrd, Sr. and Fannie Mae Smith Byrd.

She was united in marriage to Clyde Russell Doyle, Jr., who preceded his wife in death on March 4, 2003.

Linda was a retired distributor for the Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah. Linda enjoyed gardening and baking for her family, friends, and neighbors. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Linda departed this life on Monday, September 28, 2020 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 9 days.

She is survived by her two daughters, Anna McKinnon and her husband John of Savannah, Tennessee and Amy Ditto and her fiancé Kenny Leyva of Denmark, Tennessee; grandchildren, Cody Roberts and Lauren McKinnon and her fiancé Reid Whaley; brother, Jimmy C. Byrd of Spring Hill, Tennessee; sisters, Nelda Byrd Coleman of Lobelville, Tennessee, and Judy Byrd Lewing of Savannah, Tennessee; nephews, Benjamin Lewing and Taylor Lewing; and a special friend and caregiver, Teresa Scherrer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one infant son, one brother, Woodrow W. Byrd, Jr., and one infant sister, Carolyn Jane Byrd.
