Linda L. Kirk

Mrs. Linda Kirk of Middleton, Tennessee passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 31, 2014 at Bolivar General Hospital.

A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late H. B. Vickers and Katie Lou Russell Vickers, who survives. On November 16, 1964, she was united in marriage to Houston David Kirk. Mrs. Kirk worked the past 12-14 years as a substitute school teacher and also taught pre-schoolers at church in Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed motorcycling with her husband, crafts, gardening, flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family describes her as a real "people person".

Her survivors include her husband, Houston D. Kirk of Middleton; her daughter, Laura (Mike) Downen of Jackson; her sons, Michael (Holly) Kirk of Dickson and John (Melinda) Kirk of Middleton; her mother, Katie Vickers of Middleton; her brother, William O'Neal (Doris Nell) Vickers of Middleton; 8 grandchildren, Joshua (April) McQueen, Thomas Downen, Dillan McQueen, Sydney Downen, Matthew (Jessica) Kirk, Megan Kirk, John Clifton Kirk and Jacob Kirk; and 4 great-grandchildren, Colby, Danica, E. B. and Nyah.
