Linda Shelby

Linda Shelby was born on July 15, 1942 in Selmer, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Hayes Frank and Ruby Virginia Brown Scott.

On December 25, 1958, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Hollis Shelby, Sr., who preceded his wife in death on August 28, 2013.

Mrs. Shelby worked as a supervisor at Angelica and resided in Adamsville, Tennessee. She enjoyed going shopping with her sister and sister in law, antiquing, sewing, crafting, gardening, and vacationing. Linda loved her family and enjoyed hanging out with Daniel.

Linda Shelby departed this life on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in Adamsville, Tennessee, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 8 days.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Hollis Shelby, Jr. and Tracy Lee Shelby; grandsons, that Linda raised as her sons, James Scott Pogue, Jeremy Lane Pogue, Daniel Coy Parson, and Ryan Dale Parson; sister, Diane Scott (Hal); brothers, Cecil (Aleshia) and Douglas Scott (Doris); grandchildren, Chelsea Hughes, Kelvin Phillips, Keysha Shelby, James Heiney, Nicholas Shelby, Ashley Shelby, Emily Shelby, and Josh Shelby; and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her daughters, Vickie Shelby, Kimberly Shelby, and Lorinda Shelby Phillips and brothers, James Hayes Scott, Dee Scott, and Tony Scott.
