Linda Alexander Shipley Averett, of Memphis, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
The widow of Harold G. Shipley, who died in 1977, she worked at Watkins-Uiberall CPA's. She was born April 15, 1944 in Cerro Gordo to the late Arvel B. Alexander and Lola Love Alexander. She lived in Michigan, Saulsbury for many years, and in Memphis for over 20 years. She attended First Assembly of God on Walnut Grove Rd.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Christie Shipley Strickland and Graham of Memphis; 5 sisters, Marie Alexander of Waynesboro, Clo Simon of St. Louis, MO, Judith Beckham of Cerro Gordo, Ellen Neff of Memphis, Lawanda Carroll of Savannah; 3 brothers, Douglas Alexander of Cerro Gordo, Ray Alexander of Memphis, Keeton Alexander of Tucson, AZ; and four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Molly, Thomas, and Simon Strickland. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
