Linda L. Young

Linda L. Young, born on January 23, 1938, in Hardeman, Tennessee, passed away on December 28, 2025, at VanAyer Senior Living and Rehab in Martin, Tennessee. Her life was marked by a strong commitment to her community and a deep love for her family, friends, and faith.

Linda dedicated over 20 years of her career to serving as the County Court Clerk of Hardeman County, a role she took on with great pride and a sense of duty to her constituents. In addition to her public service, she spent many years working at Wal-Mart in Bolivar, where she was known for her kindness and dedication until her retirement in December 2014.

An avid reader, Linda found joy and comfort in books, often losing herself in the pages of a good story. Her love for literature was only matched by her devotion to her church, being a long-time member of Bolivar Church of Christ, where she cherished the bonds of fellowship and worship.

Linda was a proud graduate of Bolivar Central High School, having completed her education in 1956. She carried the memories of her upbringing with her throughout her life, often reflecting on her roots in Hardeman County.

She is survived by her sister, Suzanne Millican of Martin, and several nieces and nephews who will carry her legacy forward. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, R.B. Young and Eddie Penn Hillhouse Young, and her beloved sons, Paul and Chris Simpson. She also rejoined her siblings who have passed, James Allen Young, Rebecca Cossar, Karen Wright, Terry Lee Young, Stephen Lynn Young, and Michael Wayne Young, as well as her nephews, Andy Young and Cameron Chandler.

As we remember Linda Young, we celebrate her unwavering spirit, the many lives she touched, and the loving memories she leaves behind.
