Linnie Mae Cleek

October 17, 1924 — April 9, 2010

Linnie Mae Carter Cleek, 85, of Humboldt, formerly of Hardeman County, passed away Friday morning, April 9, 2010 at Tennessee State Veteran’s Home.



Serving as pallbearers are Dan and Steve Wiggins, Shawn New, Todd and Evan Carter, and Richard King.



The wife of William R. Cleek, who died March 11, 2007 after 69 years of marriage, she was a homemaker and a greeter at Wal-Mart in Bolivar. Mrs. Cleek was born in Hardeman County to the late William Alex Carter and Hattie Ethel King Carter. She was a member of New Union Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher.



She is survived by a son, Wayne Cleek of Medon; a daughter, Mary Wiggins of The Woodlands, TX; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Edward Cleek and Rudy Cleek.
