Mr. Bishop passed away Sunday morning at the Bolivar General Hospital.
The husband of Wanda Lee Bishop, who survives, he worked as a farmer and dozer operator, most recently working for Dowdy Dozer before retiring in 2007. He was born September 25, 1941, in Somerville, son of the late Malcolm and Annie Bob Henley Bishop and lived all of his childhood years in Somerville. He married Wanda on November 26, 1960 and moved to Hardeman County. Mr. Bishop loved to hunt and fish and was a Baptist in belief.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Penny Bishop Sipes of Bolivar and Denise Benard of Whiteville; a sister, Bobbie Jean Dorris of Hornsby; five brothers, Edward Bishop of Somerville, Scooter Bishop of Whiteville, W. D. and Audie Dean Bishop, both of Somerville and Junior Bishop of Bolivar; three grandchildren, Justin and Matthew Baker and Gerica Lee Parker; and three great grandchildren, Ava and Emma Parker and Landon Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ray Bishop on December 13, 2003.
