Lonnie Ray Wilkerson

Lonnie Ray Wilkerson

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 26, 1949 the son of the late Brown and Lillie Wilkerson.

On July 8, 1972 he was united in marriage to Teresa Jane Banks, who preceded her husband in death on February 16, 2014.

Lonnie served his country proudly in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam era.  While in the Army he worked in the Military Police as a dog handler.  Lonnie received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60.  After leaving the military he worked as a carpenter, and was the co-owner of Savannah Bowling Center.  Lonnie loved being outdoors and was an avid bowler.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Lonnie departed this life on Friday, December 8, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 74 years and 12 days.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Hogan and her husband Travis of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Trey Hogan of Columbia, Tennessee, and Tatum Hogan of Florence, Alabama; and a special friend, Kate Ford of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lonnie was preceded in death by one sister, Vicky Wilkerson Price.
