Lonny Winford Young departed this life on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the age of 78 years, 1 month, 5 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on August 14, 1937, the son of the late Lonny Freeman and Minnie Lou Murphy Young.
Lonny had lived in Hardin County for 30 years and in Decatur County, Tennessee for over 30 years. He was self-employed as a car salesman and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Yellow Springs United Methodist Church in Decatur County, Tennessee. He would lead in the singing at church and enjoyed going to singings around the county. He was a rebuilder of many things. He was very much a people person, loved working with people, and enjoyed his previous jobs as an insurance salesman and garment factory supervisor.
He is survived his children, Sarah Annette Young of Paris, Tennessee, Bonita Hope Peterson and husband, Pete of Arlington, Tennessee, Lonny Wayne Young and wife, Kim of Decaturville, Tennessee, Tony Young and wife, Katherine of Parsons, Tennessee, and Terry J. Young of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Sarah L. Young, Emily L. Young, Beau R. Young, Brenton M. Young, Zachary J. Warner, Kelli N. Young, Katie Grace Arnold, and Mark A. Young; great-grandchildren, Hunter L. Joy and McKenna B. Young; sister, Linda Y. Darnell of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Steve Young of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Arthur Young.
