Lorene Gladys Petty Crotts

Lorene Gladys Petty Crotts was born on December 4, 1925 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John and Ella Mae Stricklin Petty.

On August 28, 1943, she was united in marriage to Warren G. Crotts, who preceded his wife in death on June 24, 2009. They were married for 65 years.

Lorene was of the Assembly of God faith and attended the Old Town Gospel Church. She loved singing, playing gospel and bluegrass music, and playing the bass. She also loved gardening and working outside. Lorene was a talented seamstress and sewed for the public. She never met a stranger.

Lorene Gladys Petty Crotts departed this life on March 7, 2023 after a brief illness at HMC Health & Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 97 years, 3 months, and 3 days.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Crotts; son, Larry Gene Crotts (Ellen); sister, Linda Jarrett; brother, Johnny Petty; grandchildren, Anthony Downing (Staci), Shawn Austin, Jennifer Stuart (Jason), and Matthew Crotts; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. Crotts; sisters, Agnes Petty, Susie Spinella, Lillie Young, and Edith Baker; and granddaughter, Kristy Downing.
