LOUISE MANESS BURNS
Henderson, TN: Faye Louise Maness Burns, age 87, died at her home Friday morning June 20, 2014.
Mrs. Burns was born and reared in McNairy County, at Selmer, the daughter of the late George Robert and Mary Hair Maness. She went to high school at Selmer and attended Draughns Business College in Memphis and in 1949 married Montre Earl (M.E.) Burns of the Gravel Hill Community. They made their home in Selmer where Mr. Burns was employed with the Tennessee Department of Transportation. They moved to Henderson in 1960. Mr. Burns died in 1996.
Mrs. Burns was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson. She was a very giving person having volunteered at The Gleaners House and she loved to share her homemade bread with friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Burns was the former owner and operator of the Bargain Nest on Hill Avenue.
She is survived by a son Tony Burns and wife Joy of Henderson, a daughter La Auna Burns Williams of Dalton, GA, a granddaughter Macy Nichole Burns Foster and husband Cody of Jackson, two great grandchildren; Chloe Grace Foster and William Ty Foster, a sister-in-law Peggy Carlin and husband James of Ramer as well as several Burns family nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Inez Hutcherson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Brother Brad Patterson officiating and burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in McNairy County.
The family will received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday.
Flowers are being accepted and in recognition of Mrs. Louise’s giving spirit, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
