Loyce (Clem) Clement
was born in Phil Campbell, Alabama on April 9, 1932 the son of the late Robert Roy and Icie Evelyn Carroll Clement.
On April 16, 1953 he was united in marriage to Joyce Ramsey, who survives.
Mr. Clement was an Automotive Salesman and Mechanic for Millers Used Cars in Haleyville, Alabama. He had lived in Haleyville for 58 years. He had also lived in Bear Creek, Alabama until the age of 21 and Savannah, Tennessee for the past 11 years. He was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church in Savannah, New Hope Baptist in Haleyville where he served as a Deacon for 30 years. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons #464, he was the past Master in Haleyville. Mr. Clement was a Gideon representative for about 9 years. He loved to garden, mechanic work, weld, work was his past time. Mr. Clement enjoyed singing with the New Harmony singers, was the Song Director at New Hope Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Clement departed this life on February 2, 2011 at the age of 78 years, 9 months, 24 days.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by a daughter, Leisa Clement Whaley and husband Paul of Savannah, Tennessee; a son, Steve Clement of Quitman, Mississippi; 4 grandchildren, Reid Whaley, Alison Whaley both of Savannah, Tennessee, Heath Clement and Grant Clement both of Quitman, Mississippi; a sister, Ava Jean Mize of Haleyville, Alabama; a brother, Collin Clement of Houston, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Clement.
