Luther Bumpas

Mr. Bumpas died Wednesday afternoon at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was the son of the late Jessie Bumpas and Geneve Derenski and lived in Mississippi before moving to Hardeman County 30 years ago. Mr. Bumpas was a welder for Durant-Raute where he retired in 1996 after 18 years with the company. He attended the Full Gospel Church of Tiplersville, MS. He was the widower of Bernice Bumpas who died May 17, 2001. Mr. and Mrs. Bumpas were married December 17, 1978.
He leaves 2 daughters, Kathy (Willie) Swinford of Middleton and Debbie (Mike) Surratt of Middleton; 4 sons, Ronnie Sisco of Tiplersville, MS; Wayne (Carla) Sisco of Selmer; Tony Bumpas of Mesa, AZ and Doug Wagner of New Orleans, LA; 3 brothers, Ken Nolan of Olive Branch, MS; Stanley PItts of Ashville, AL and Stephen Nolan of Aurora, IL; a special grandson, Patrick Shook, who was Mr. Bumpas caretaker until his death. He also leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sons, Charles Bumpas, Terry and Bobby Sisco.
