Lydia Benson was born on September 7, 1953 in Highlands, Texas, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Velmer Arlene Hollingsworth Barham.

On December 19, 2000, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Benson, who survives.

Lydia enjoyed cross-stitching, playing bingo, and watching westerns. She was a member of Savannah Church of God.

Lydia Benson departed this life on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 72 years and 23 days.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Benson; son, Scotty Webb (Amenda); daughters, Kim Moore and Crystal Rickman (Shane); sister, Maudie Nalor; grandchildren, Katlyn Moore (Tyler), Shelby Webb, Dylan Benson, Dustin Benson, Spencer Moore, Alexander Moore, and Penny Rickman; and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Parnell and brothers, Robert Counce, Roger Barham, Roy Barham, James Barham, Bud Barham, and Bill Barham.
