Lynda Meadows

LYNDA MEADOWS

Pinson, TN: Lynda Kaye Moore Meadows, age 76, passed away August 13, 2023, at her home.

She was born June 18, 1947, in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Prentice E. and Electa Flaye Kiser Moore. She grew up in McNairy County and was a 1965 graduate of Selmer High School.   

She married Marvin Meadows on December 10, 1982, in Selmer and they made their home in Pinson for a time before moving to Corbin, KY. They lived in Corbin for twenty years until Marvin retired and they returned to Pinson.

She was a very active volunteer with the American Cancer Society and served as Coordinator for the annual Relay for Life in Corbin for about ten years.

She was very creative and enjoyed making flower arrangements and going on cruises.

She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Pinson Baptist Church and was active with the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.  

Mrs. Meadows is survived by her husband, Marvin Meadows of Pinson; a daughter, Mary Ann Morris (Mike) of Lexington, KY; two stepsons, Scott Meadows (Shauna) of Pinson and Brandon Meadows (Tonya) of Jackson; three grandchildren, Kendal Crotzer (Chris), James Austin Meadows and Daniel Meadows; three brothers, Billy Moore (Sue) of Purdy, TN, Jimmy E. Moore of Selmer and Roy Neal Moore of Huron, TN and two sisters, Martha Jane Taylor of Eastview, Nancy Fay Souders of Ramer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael Royce Cardwell, a sister, Mattie Jean Griffin and a brother, Dee Troy Moore.      

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 16^th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jetta Forsythe and Jimmy Burress officiating. Burial will follow at Big Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
