M. Marie Counce

M. Marie Sharp Counce

was born on September 23, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Bill Sharp and Mabel Kemp Lichenstein.

On April 28, 1972 she was united in marriage to Bobby Lowell Counce, who preceded his wife in death on December 17, 2000.

Marie, as she was known by everyone, was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Houston, Texas.  At age 55, she completed her GED and then completed training to become a Registered Nurse working at Methodist and Baptist Hospitals in Memphis, Tennessee and Tri-County Nursing Home in Adamsville, Tennessee.  Marie was a longtime member of Michie Baptist Church and most recently attended Stantonville Church of Christ.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading and quilting.

She departed this life on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 7 days.

Marie is survived by her children, Mitch McCracken, Terri Coburn, and Marsha Boren; stepchildren, Hal Counce, Hank Counce, and Lori Counce; brother, Earl Sharp; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie McCracken and Johnny Counce; three brothers, Ted, Bob, and Wayne Sharp; and one sister, Billie Collins. 

At the request of her family, there will be no public services announced. A private service will be held with burial to follow in the Center Hill Cemetery in Counce, Tennessee.
