Macie Mevelyn Godwin Harrison

Macie Mevelyn Godwin Harrison was born on July 15, 1932 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Hershel Jefferson and Macie Ellen Young Godwin. On September 3, 1966, she was united in marriage to William Thomas Harrison, who preceded his wife in death on December 19, 2002.

Mevelyn was retired from Walmart where she worked as a door greeter. She loved going to church and was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, talking and visiting with her friends, being outside, flowers, and gardening. She was also an animal lover and loved her nieces and nephews very much.

Mrs. Harrison departed this life on May 12, 2016 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 9 months, 27 days.

She is survived by her siblings, Kenneth Godwin and Frankie Johnson, both of Savannah, Tennessee, Nelson Godwin of Jackson, Tennessee, Maedell Shelton of Los Angeles, California, Roy Godwin of Collierville, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Austin of Lexington, Tennessee. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Leon Godwin, Barney Godwin, and Larry Godwin.
