Mackie Nell Simmons

Mackie Nell Bain Simmons

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 22, 1936 the daughter of the late Maloy and Annie Bain.

On September 16, 1959 she was united in marriage to Jack H. Simmons, who preceded his wife in death on January 21, 2017.

Mackie retired from Parris Manufacturing, where she was a machine operator.  She was an excellent housekeeper, and after her retirement she cleaned houses for various families in the community.  In her spare time she enjoyed going to gospel singing and working in her flower garden.  Not only was Mackie an excellent housekeeper she was an exceptional cook.  Mackie's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She departed this life on December 8, 2023 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 16 days.  

Mackie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Nguyen and her husband Vinh of Jackson, Tennessee; sons, Eddie Simmons and his wife Christie of Savannah, Tennessee, and Lonnie Simmons and his wife Rita of Jackson, Tennessee; stepdaughters, Jacklyn Bradley and her husband Jerry of Ravenden, Arkansas, and Jimmie Lou Milgrim of Olive Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jason Nguyen, Craig Nguyen, Shannon Boyd, Eli Bridges, Kasey Slay, Jonathan Milgrim, Jeriod Bradley, and Michael Bradley; 14 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Blackwelder and Georgia Godwin; and one brother, Kenneth Bain.
