MADELINE SHELTON TEUTON
Henderson: Madeline Vannada Shelton Teuton, age 90, passed away November 2, 2009 at the Chester County Healthcare.
Mrs. Teuton was the daughter of the late John Nelson and Laura Humes Vannada of Success, Arkansas; and the niece of Jess and Maud Mitchell of Henderson. She attended school at Finger and Henderson and graduated from Henderson High School in 1939 and attended Freed Hardeman College. In 1940 she married Harry Shelton of Adamsville. Mr. Shelton died in 1953. She later married Kenneth Teuton of Enville in 1967. Mr. Teuton preceded in death in 1976.
Mrs. Teuton worked for the Chester County Farm Bureau for 25 years as secretary and treasurer. She also worked simultaneously with the American Red Cross, serving as secretary for many years while she was at the Farm Bureau.
She was a member of the first Untied Methodist Church of Henderson for over 40 years and a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class.
She was a member of the Davidson Haltom Post 157 of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 40 years, serving in various official positions.
Mrs. Teuton is survived by two daughters, Helen Kay Shelton Moore and husband Daniel and Linda Shelton Jones and husband Rory all of Henderson; two grandchildren, Marnie Ward (Brad) and Travis Jones (Shannon); six great-grandchildren, Hailey Ward, Grant Ward, Grayson Ward, Olivia Ward, Mary Allison Jones and Rory Travis Jones, III.
