Mr. Dowdy, 84, died early Sunday at Bolivar General Hospital.
Born January 14, 1927 in Saulsbury to Hugh E. and Lena Goddard Dowdy, he was a T. V. Technician and owner of Dowdy's TV. He was the husband of Rebecca Crawford Dowdy who preceded him in death, and served as a Seaman, First Class with the U. S. Navy where he was awarded a Victory Medal and an American Theater Medal. He was a member of Saulsbury Methodist Church and lived all his life in Hardeman County.
He is survived by his son Jeff O. Dowdy of Grand Junction and in addition to his wife was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
