Malvena Lay

Malvena Lay of Waynesboro, Tennessee was born September 9, 1924 in Wayne County, TN the daughter of the late William McKinley and Nona Morrison Lay. She passed from this life on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 7 Months, 19 Days. She was retired from Genesco and was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Wayne Lay, a daughter in law, Carolyn Lay, a grandchild, Melissa Lay all of Waynesboro, TN, two sisters, Era Williams of Hermitage, TN and Louise Hunt of Memphis, TN, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Lay.

Services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Craig Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens with Shackeford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro directing. Pallbearers are Brent Gobbell, Billy Joe Williams, Mike Wilson, Jerry Martin, Larry Kea, and Phillip Chapman.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 30th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and Monday from
8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
