Services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Jason Love and Steve Inman officiating. Burial will follow in Shawnettee Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangments.
Pallbearers: Charlie Griggs; Jeff Stockard; Les Reed; Tim Keeton; Terry Keeton and Stacy Wharton.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 10, 7:00--9:00 pm and on Thursday, October 11, 9:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN
Mrs. Mamie Dixon departed this life onTuesday, October 9, 2012 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 2 Months, 9 Days. She was born July 31, 1928 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Clifford Lee and Ina Lou Ella Lay Stockard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Cincinnati Dixon on December 14, 1983; brother, Robert Stockard; sisters, Lou Ella Andrews and Dorothy Jo Clay.
Mrs.Mamie had worked for Wayne County Extension Service and was owner of Dixon & Dixon Shoe Store . She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years.
She is survived by a son, Melvin Thomas Dixon of Collinwood, TN; daughter, Charlotte Ruth (Dixon) Wisdom of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren; Brent Thomas Dixon and Thomas Caleb Wisdom; brothers, Edmond Stockard of Nashville, TN, Harvel Stockard of Columbia, TN; sisters, Marie Griggs of Waynesboro, TN, Grace Agner of Nashville, TN, Bertha Haddock of Nashville, TN, Elsie Cothran of Nashville, TN, Pauliine Kilburn of Waynesboro, TN, sisters in law Peggy Dixon and Bessie Keeton both of Collinwood, TN, Carolyn Love of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews
