Mamie L. Davidson

Mrs. Davidson passed away on Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016, at her home near Somerville.

A native of Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Correna Rogers Conner. She lived in Whiteville before settling in the Somerville area. On September 2, 1954, she married Willie Aubrey Davidson, Sr. She was a sales lady at several dry good stores in Somerville, her last employment being with Douglas Department Store. Mrs. Davidson was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and in her leisure time enjoyed traveling, walking, singing and was a big fan of Elvis Presley.

She leaves her husband of Somerville; son, Willie Aubrey (Sheila) Davidson, Jr.; three sisters, Sue Stewart of Iuka, MS; Jamie (Hans) Engelage of Arlington, TN and Mildred (Richard) Graves of Whiteville; two grandchildren, Bruce (Sarah) Davidson of Oakland and Gina (Allen) McElwee of Somerville; and four great grandchildren, Aniston and Paislee Davidson, Hunter and Thomas McElwee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Steward and Kate Robbins; and three brothers, Raymond, Chester and Buster Conner.
