Mrs. Ross died at Jackson Regional Hospital.
The daughter of Tom and Maggie Ray Weatherly of Selmer, who preceded her in death, she was a librarian for the Bolivar School System for many years. She married Mecoy Ross, former Hardeman County educator, in 1937, and was married for 54 years prior to his death in 1991.
She was a graduate of Memphis State University, receiving her bachelor of science degree. She was an active member of Bolivar First United Methodist Church for over 40 years and after moving to Jackson in 1999, was a member of First Methodist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Bettye Ross Labry and Edward Labry, Jr. of Jackson; three granddaughters, Tracy Sadlak McLaughlin, Melissa Sadlak Harrell and Betsy Sadlak Pendergrass, and her husband, Taylor; and five great grandchildren.
