Margaret Skelton Carroll

Margaret Skelton Carroll was born May 23, 1940 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Arthur and Nettie Carroll Skelton. Mrs. Carroll died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 9 Months, 10 Days. She was married to Joe Wayne Carroll on March 18, 1972 and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1996. Mrs. Carroll had worked at Angelica in Waynesboro and was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Connie Crews of Lawrenceburg, TN, three grandchildren, Jyl Stegall, Jason Crews, and Cecelia Sheffler, four great grandchildren, Preston Stegall, Lawson Stegall, Karson Crews, and Raegan Crews, two brothers, Edgar Skelton of Roseville, MI and Paul Skelton of Waynesboro, TN, three sisters, Roberta Rochell, Shirley Luker, and Beulah Mathis all of Waynesboro, TN, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by a son, Barry Carroll, six brothers, Hershel, Walter, Willie, Mack, Eddie, and Franklin Skelton, two sisters, Peggy Garrison and Lydia Clayton.

Services will be Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cary Crews and David Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Highland United Methodist Church Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, March 7, 2014 from 6:00-9:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeff Crews, Bill Crews, David Mathis, Chad Gobbell, and Jamie Butler.
