Margaret Ellen Stanfill Grooms

Margaret Ellen Stanfill Grooms was born on August 11, 1943 in Scotts Hill, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Cletus and Blanch Jones Stanfill.

On January 6, 1962, she was united in marriage to Billy Joe Grooms, who survives.

Margaret spent many years on the farm helping her husband Billy milk and run their dairy farm. She later retired from First Bank in Scotts Hill, Tennessee after a long career. Her most valued accomplishment was her family and being "Granny Margaret". She loved her family immensely. She was known by most for her kitchen table full of really good food and the best biscuits around. She also had a love for flowers and enjoyed growing the prettiest ones around.

Margaret Ellen Stanfill Grooms departed this life on November 14, 2025 in Saltillo, Tennessee, at the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 3 days.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy Joe Grooms of Saltillo, Tennessee; daughter, Denise Presley and her husband Darryl of Jackson, Tennessee; son, Stuart Grooms and his wife Carolyn of Saltillo, Tennessee; sisters, Peggy Wentworth of Lexington, Tennessee and Wanda Townsend and her husband Larry of Parsons, Tennessee; grandchildren, Luke Presley and his wife Jordan, Chase Presley and his wife Jeni, and Jade Munoz and her husband Anthony; great grandchildren, Kit, Cece, Liam, Reese, and Paisley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jane McPeak and brothers, Billy Wayne Stanfill and Max Ray Stanfill.
