Services for Margaret Seamon Hicks of Waynesboro will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro with Casey Jones and Kevin Cross officiating. Burial will follow in the McCauley Cemetery in Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
A native of Wayne County, she was born July 28, 1933 in Clifton, TN the daughter of the late Joel and Della Tyler Seamon. She was married to Broyles T. Hicks October 1957 and he preceded her April 14, 2010. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Auther Seamon and a sister, Mary Louise Seamon Flye. Mrs. Hicks departed this life Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 10 Days. She had joined the Methodist Church in Clifton at an early age and was retired from Tennessee River Human Resources.
She is survived by two sons, William Turner (Jug) Hicks and wife Clara; and William Thomas (Bill) Hicks; daughter, Susan Margaret (Sissie) Hicks all of Waynesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Eric Hicks of Lawrenceburg, TN and Tanisha Hicks of Waynesboro, TN; six great grandchildren, Eriq Hicks, Keasha Yarbrough, Mia Yarbrough, Quintin Anderson, Takia Yarbrough, and Zaylee Hicks.
