Margaret Pearl Ayers Johnson

Margaret Pearl Ayers Johnson of Lutts, TN was born November 18, 1948 in Lutts, TN, the daughter of the late Claude and Goldie Holt Ayers. She was united in marriage to James Robert Johnson on May 19, 1964 and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2020.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Cypress Inn, Tennessee. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Mrs. Johnson departed this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 3 Months, 18 Days.

She is survived by a son, Eugene Johnson of Lutts, TN; daughters, Belinda Jones and husband, Jeff, Brenda Pevahouse and husband, Larry and Christy Maples and husband, Jowhn all of Waynesboro, TN, Nancy Ayers and husband Mansel of Lutts, TN and Michelle Lawson of Lutts, TN; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Johnson; a sister, Mary Ethel Sherrill and brothers, J. M. Ayers, Arlie Ayers, Noah E. Ayers and George (Tump) Ayers.

Services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery at Lutts, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be Friday, March 11, 2022 from 10 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Nichelos Kelley, Anthony Scruggs, Brian Sherrill, Christopher Tilley, Danny Ayers and Johnathan Johnson with Christian Eiland as a honorary pallbearer.
