MARGARET ‘MARTY’ ROGERS
Finger, TN: Margaret Ann Strauser Rogers, age 62, died August 22, 2009 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Independence, Iowa and grew up in Janesville, Iowa the daughter of the late Glenn Dale Strauser, Sr. and Edna Luck Strauser and Marty’s mother–in-love, Mary Kizer Strauser. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1967. She was married to Herman Ray Rogers and they made their home in Waverly, Iowa and moved to Finger in 1978.
She had worked as a nursing assistant in Iowa and was involved in the church, teaching Sunday school classes in Iowa and Finger. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Finger.
She is survived by a daughter, Tina Rogers Reeves and a son, David Rogers both of Finger; a brother, Glenn Dale Strauser of Arroyo Grande, CA; a grandchild, Skyler Ray Reeves and three sisters-in-love, Lorrie Barnes of Longview, TX, Marsha Spruiell of White Oak, TX and Sheryl Alden of Daingerfield, TX and also uncle and aunt, Bob and Donna Westervelt of Nashua, Iowa and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Rogers in 2003 and a daughter, Melissa Ann Rogers in 1971.
