Margaret Marie Whitley

Margaret Marie King Whitley was born April 20, 1931 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Hubert and Viola Elliott King.

She was united in marriage to William Marshall (Gene) Whitley on June 14, 1947. Mr. Whitley preceded her in death on December 14, 1981.

Mrs. Whitley was employed by Brown Shoe Company for 39 years. She enjoyed quilting and knitting, and was a faithful member of the Fourth Street church of Christ in Selmer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister to her family.

Mrs. Whitley departed this life on December 22, 2016 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 85 Years, 8 Months, 2 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Ginger Marie (Whitley) Crum of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren: Heather Whitley of Corinth, MS, Heath Whitley of Corinth, MS, and William Washington of Tuscon, AZ; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Mathis of Selmer, TN; three brothers: Bill King and wife Norma Jean of Adamsville, TN, John King and wife Linda of Corinth, MS, and Roger King of Selmer, TN; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Whitley was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lynn Whitley, and a sister, Nina Jenkins.
