In Loving Memory of Margie Arnold
November 14, 1945 – October 25, 2026
Margie Arnold, of Middleton, Tennessee, passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 80. Born Margie King on November 14, 1945, she was the daughter of Dossie and Rosa King.
Margie was a larger-than-life woman with a heart big enough for everyone. She truly never met a stranger. Her warm spirit, unforgettable personality, and ability to make everyone feel welcome were gifts that touched countless lives. She had a way of turning strangers into friends and friends into family. Above all else, Margie loved her family. They were her greatest treasure, and she placed them above everything else in her life.
Her greatest blessings included her sons, Joe McDonald and Randy McDonald. She was also blessed with two daughters-in-law, Stephanie McDonald, wife of Joe, and Connie McDonald, wife of Randy, whom she loved as if they were her own daughters. To Margie, family was never simply about a title or relationship; it was about love, loyalty, and the special bonds shared between hearts.
Margie dearly loved her grandchildren: David (Davy) McDonald, Cynthia McDonald, Sofia McDonald White, Brittney Knowles, Brenden Knowles, and Justin Duffy. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Jackson McKee, Grayson McKee, Jace McDonald, and Lily McDonald, who brought another generation of love and joy into her life. Each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by two beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Kelly McDonald and Monica McDonald, as well as her beloved husband, Autry Jones. Though their absence brought heartache, they will always remain a cherished part of her family’s story.
Born into the King family, Margie was the daughter of Dossie and Rosa King. Her siblings included her brothers Roy, David, and Paul, and her sisters Irene, Emogene, Debra Faye, and Katherine. The bonds of family and the memories they shared were an important part of her life.
In her younger years, Margie was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and a gift for playing the piano. She especially loved gospel music, singing praises to Jesus, and sharing her faith through music. Her love for the Lord was a guiding part of her life. Whether singing a beloved gospel song or sitting at the piano, she found joy in praising her Savior. Those who knew her will remember the beauty of her music and the faith behind it.
Margie spent much of her working life caring for others in nursing homes. Serving as an activities director allowed her to bring joy, companionship, laughter, and comfort to residents. She most recently worked at Perry County Nursing Home in Linden, Tennessee, where she retired after years of dedicated service. Her career reflected the caring, people-loving woman she was.
She spent a large part of her life in Lexington and Parsons, Tennessee, alongside her beloved husband, Autry Jones. Their years together were an important chapter in her life and remained a cherished part of her memories.
Margie also found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially working in her garden and tending to her beloved rose bushes. She loved watching things grow and bloom, perhaps much like the love she planted in the lives of everyone around her.
In her most recent years, Margie returned home to Middleton to spend more time with family and friends. She was happy to be back where she belonged, enjoying the comfort and peace of her “little house.” Being home again allowed her to reconnect with loved ones and enjoy the familiar places and people that meant so much to her.
Margie leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years or words alone. It lives on in the family she cherished, the people she cared for, the friendships she formed, the gospel songs she sang, and the flowers she lovingly tended. She was a woman of deep faith, boundless love, and a personality that could never be forgotten.
Though her family will feel her absence every day, they can take comfort in knowing that her love will never leave them. Her laughter will be remembered, her stories will be told, her songs will live on, and the love she gave so freely will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
Margie Arnold was truly one of a kind. She never met a stranger, never held back her love, and never stopped finding joy in the people and blessings around her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
