Mrs. Kennedy passed away, Tuesday morning, October 11, 2011 at Magnolia Regional Health Care in Corinth, MS.
The daughter of Jesse Newton and Clara Bell Ezell Smith, she was born September 10, 1928 in Ripley, MS. She was the widow of Rufus Carson Kennedy who passed away November 3, 1962 and had lived in Hardeman County all her life. She was a retired clerk from Middleton Drug Store and a member of Rogers Springs Church of Christ.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Cathy Cox, of Middleton and Cheryl Ann Taylor, of Booneville, MS; a son Rufus Dwight Kennedy, of Middleton; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joel N. Smith, and a greatgrandchild Carson Cory Kennedy.
