Della Marie Carroll was born on April 18, 1934 in Mud Creek, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Brodie Travis and Eunia Estalee Dethridge Boleyn.
On November 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles Edwin "Jimmy" Carroll, who preceded his wife in death on February 10, 1996.
Della Marie Carroll, affectionately known as Mamaw, was the truest example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was the capable wife and brought honor to her husband. She rose early and cared for her children and grandchildren, provided food for many, and she worked hard. She was a woman of character, full of wisdom, kindness, and laughter. Mrs. Carroll was a member of First Christian Church in Adamsville, Tennessee.
"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all." - Proverbs 31:28-29 KJV
Della Marie Carroll departed this life on April 27, 2024 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 90 years and 9 days.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Carroll and his wife Charlotte of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Martha Powell of Jackson, Tennessee and Pam Carroll of Adamsville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Barbara, Bobby, Jimmy, Charles, Rose, Elizabeth, Jeni, and Debra; 18 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her son, Randy Carroll; daughters in law, Susie Carroll and Mary Carroll; brothers, Curtis Boleyn, J.M. Boleyn, Floyd Boleyn, and Glen D. Boleyn; sisters, Pauline Hardin, Rita Mae Scott, Virginia Gooch, and Dorothy Alexander; granddaughter, Susan Annette Carroll; and great grandson, Weston Cole Williams.
